At the Data, Information and Media Literacy Institute and Solutions, (DIMLIS Africa), we tirelessly work to redefine what it means to be literate in the digital age on the continent. We understand that in this age of exponential information, survival is about access to data, understanding it, questioning it, and using it to build a more just, informed, and humane society.
Based in Kenya and rooted across Africa, we help people build skills that nurture a culture of inquiry, courage, and care for the few Africans who are meaningfully connected to the internet. From information integrity to knowledge resilience, research data management to digital hygiene, from media literacy to AI literacy, our work sits at the intersection of technology, truth, and public trust.
We are researchers, educators, thinkers, and builders, and we know that in a world flooded with data and inundated with information, the most powerful thing we can do is help people make sense of it. We train, we research, we convene, we debate and we imagine, because the future of democracy depends on how well we understand the information systems that shape us.
